The unpredictable weather in Brazil guarantees a good race.
It was going to be a wet race and the race started behind the safety car
(boring). Lewis Hamilton led the race from start to finish. Safety cars and Red
flags kept resetting the gaps to zero. First Marcus Ericsson crashed , seconds
after racing resumed Kimi Raikkonen ended up in the wall on the front straight.
Overall there were 2 red flags and about 5 safety car intervals leading to a 3 and
half hour race. Redbull tried something a little different with their tyre strategy
but it failed and Max had to pit for full wets on Lap 54. He re-joined the race
in 16th and overtook 13 cars in 17 laps that brought him up to 3rd! Max is surely a world champion in the making.
Felipe Massa had a very emotional last home race. He unfortunately
crashed but received a huge round of applause from the crowd and the mechanics.
Sebastian Vettel finished 5th after spinning early on. He
made his way his through the field from 19th. The Ferrari struggled
to overtake Toro Rosso‘s Carlos Sainz until the penultimate lap. Segio perez
finished 4th increasing the odds for Force India to finish 4th
in the constructors.
Felipa Nasar had his first points finish and finished a brilliant 9th.
Sauber has now jumped Manor in the constructors standings.
Every team that entered the 2016 f1 season has scored at least a point.
12 points separate Rosberg and Hamilton. If Lewis wins in Abu Dhabi and
Nico finishes 3rd , Nico will be crowned the 2016 champion. But keep
in mind Lewis still has a chance and Nico won’t give up. It’s a tough battle.
In 2 weeks time we’ll know who the new World champions is.
