The wait is finally over , 2016 Formula One season has officially begun and seems like this one is going to be an interesting one. A great start from the Ferraris with both Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen getting ahead of both the Mercedes. Lewis dropped to sixth but eventually finished second. Nico Rosberg stayed close to the Ferraris through out the race. The red flag due to Alonso and Gutierrez's high speed crash (thankfully both are okay) benefited the Mercedes . Ferrari deciding to keep the softer compound on race leader Vettel's car meant that they would have to pit again this gave the race win to Nico Rosberg . What seemed like an easy win for Ferrari was given away to the Mercedes because of wrong tyre strategy. Vettel did finish third and almost snatched second from Hamilton. Ferrari are definitely closer than last year and Mercedes have a fight on their hands. Kimi Raikkonen's bad luck struck again and had to retire due to engine problems.
