F1 driver nicknames

  1. Nico "Britney" Rosberg
Nico Rosberg's golden hair has given him the nickname "Britney" in reference to Britney spears since his days as Mark Webber's teammate in Williams. This nickname had reached a ridiculous point when in 2011 Rosberg found that his passport photo had been substituted with a picture of Britney spears (seriously look!).

  2,  Crashtor Maldonado

Pastor Maldonado earned this nickname due to his excessive number of crashes. This nickname has led to the formation of many memes and twitter fan accounts dedicated to his crashes.

  3.  Iceman

Kimi Raikkonen is popularly nicknamed as "The Iceman". His straightforward answers and ice like expression dubbed him this nickname. Raikkonen has inked the word "iceman" to his forearm,

  4, Il Dito

Sebastian Vettel had been nicknamed "il Dito" by the Ferrari mechanics. Il Dito translates to the finger which happens to be Vettel trademark celebration. During his redbull era ferrari despised il dito but now they absolutely cherish it. Vettel is sometimes also referred to as "finger boy"

  5.  The professor

Alain Prost was an expert at preserving the car until the end of the race. Prost's calculative style served him both on and off track. His knowledge of F1 politics always landed him is the best seat of the season. All this earned him the nickname of "Professor".

  6. Schummel-Schumi

A nickname that is largely forgotten in recent times. The word "schummel" has connotations of cheating and deviousness. It first appeared in 1994 when Michael Schumacher was repeatedly accused of breaking rules.

  7. The Rat .

Not the most nicest of nicknames , but Niki Lauda was dubbed the "Rat" for his appearance. This was less to do with how his crash in 1976 affected his face but rather with the profile of his head and bucked teeth.
Later as he won championships the nickname progressed to "King Rat " and "Super Rat".

8. Maestro

A nickname given to Juan Manuel Fangio the man who ruled F1 in the 50s. This name wasn't just used by fans and media but was also the way his rivals would address him . This shows how respected and great he was regarded by his peers.

   9. There are many drivers who earned a nickname because they    crashed a lot :

i) Hunt the Shunt - James Hunt
ii) de Crasheris - Andrea de Cesaris
iii)Fletcher - Jody Scheckter

Both Hunt and Scheckter eventually went on to overcome their crashing streak and won championships.

Until the next race ,
Goodbye

They share a common love for cycling and are often seen together in the paddock ,F1 or Le Mans.    P.S their "shipped name is webbando"             2.Sebastian Vettel/Kimi Raikkonen   Now teammates these two have been friends ever since Vettel's entry into F1 in 2007. They are often seen sharing jokes let it be on the podium or in the paddock , they spend most the driver's parades with

Things you should never tell an f1 fan:- 1. "The cars just go around in circles."     This is probably the most common thing that F1 fans hear. To everyone who said that DO THOSE CIRCUITS LOOK LIKE CIRCLES ?.  2. "How hard can driving be?"    These cars that are being driven are no ordinary road cars. To drive an F1 car you first need an FIA super licence. There is only hand full of drivers who have an active super licence meaning only a few are qualified to drive an F1 car .  Additionally,  when driving an F1 car there are a lot of other things that act on the drivers (keep reading). It's no easy job to drive an F1 car.     3. "*insert name of any other sport* is more physically exhausting and harder than F1."    I magine that you're going at about 300 kmph, strapped to a  702 kg car. Now your heart is beating at 200 beats per minute and temperatures around you are hitting about 50-55 degrees cent
