Following a meeting of the Strategy group in May , the FIA has decided some major rule changes in the 2017 Formula One season aimed at increasing the sport's "wow" factor. The plan so far is to increase the speed of F1 machinery by 5-6 seconds per lap , for them to look more aggressive with bigger rear tyres and wider front and rear wings and allow for louder ,higher-revving engines. Refueling was another thought that the strategy group had but was later scrapped. The current V6 turbo technology will remain in play for 2017 also. At the present the teams are still waiting for full details . The rules should be set in place by March of next year at the latest.
