Race day : Melbourne Edition

Things we learnt the 2015 Australian Grand Prix  :

  • Mercedes Domination Continues .....
Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg were pretty much in a race of their own . They had absolutely no competition from start till end . And Hamilton was all most too good for Rosberg.

  • Ferrari And Williams are the best of the rest ...
Kimi Raikkonen failed to finish because of a crazy pitstop and Valtteri Bottas didn’t even  start due to a back injury but Felipe Massa and Sebastian Vettel did enough over the weekend to suggest there could be some good battles for the third podium place this season. James Allison, the brilliant British designer, has done a good job at Ferrari, while Williams are in the mood to consolidate on last season’s rise from ninth to third.

  • Trust the Rookies
Many people were worried if 17- Year-old Max Verstappen was too young for this game, but he showed how quick he can be ,  although he couldn't finish the race due an engine problem he definitely has good pace .Felipe nasr and Carlos Sainz jr has also shown how good they can be . Sauber and Toro Rosso have taken big steps in the winter .

  • Rebull Racing still at step 1
Danil Kvyat who's engine problem on the lap to grid shows that Renault  has still a lot of work to do .   Christian Horner the team principal of Redbull said that he is tired of Mercedes Domination ( look who's talking ) and also threatened to quit the sport .Before worrying about catching the Mercedes they should think about Ferrari and Williams .

  • Vettel is Back
Sebastian Vettel scored a well deserved podium for Ferrari in Australia he even showed his team mate Kimi Raikkonen how ruthless he can be when he wants something . Ferrari did an amazing job by undercutting felipe massa giving vettel a place on the podium.

  • Mclaren are still in testing
We never expected mclaren to be higher on the grid giving ferrari and williams a hard time -- although they should be- but we didnt expect them to come last ! Honda were working on this engine from last year , should have been decent enough to compete with Sauber and Toro Rosso .But hey on a bright side they atleast finished race even though they had a few problems , they did the whole 58 laps.

  • When will Manor race ?
Marussia went into administration in October and nobody really thought they would see them again but three weeks is not long enough to build a car and Manor garage was as quiet as a library on Sunday. Now cynics are suggesting that they only came to Australia to collect their last year's  prize money.

  • Omitted Pit stops
It seems like every team had forgotten to practice pit stop !
Teams were so busy in prepping engines and bodywork to challenge the Mercedes they forgot to practice pit stops . Kimi raikkonen had two disastrous pits tops and Felipe Nasr too had one very bad pit stop .

  • Force India and Lotus have good potential
Both cars in Force india finished in the points in the first race despite lack of testing, they show good potential . Lotus on the other had a two car retirement with pastor maldonado crashing and Romain grojean having an engine problem a lot of work still ahead for Lotus .

Racing aside there was quite a bit of Hollywood glamour on the circuit.
Oscar winner  Charlize Theron And the one and ONLY  Terminator Arnold Schwarzenegger was also there .
The terminator even conducted the podium interviews making Lewis Hamilton star- struck .

F1 Friendships/Bromances

In the title i used the word 'Bromance', if you don't know what bromance means well to put it simply it friendship between men . It's not hard to tell that it's the combination of two words 'brother' and 'romance'.  There are bromances in everywhere and F1 is not an exception. They maybe rivals while on track but off track it's a little different.  1.Fernando Alonso/Mark Webber  Mark webber might have retired form Formula one but that doesn't mean that his friendship with fellow driver Mark webber would halt. They share a common love for cycling and are often seen together in the paddock ,F1 or Le Mans.    P.S their "shipped name is webbando"             2.Sebastian Vettel/Kimi Raikkonen   Now teammates these two have been friends ever since Vettel's entry into F1 in 2007. They are often seen sharing jokes let it be on the podium or in the paddock , they spend most the driver's parades with

5 things you should not tell an F1 fan

Things you should never tell an f1 fan:- 1. "The cars just go around in circles."     This is probably the most common thing that F1 fans hear. To everyone who said that DO THOSE CIRCUITS LOOK LIKE CIRCLES ?.  2. "How hard can driving be?"    These cars that are being driven are no ordinary road cars. To drive an F1 car you first need an FIA super licence. There is only hand full of drivers who have an active super licence meaning only a few are qualified to drive an F1 car .  Additionally,  when driving an F1 car there are a lot of other things that act on the drivers (keep reading). It's no easy job to drive an F1 car.     3. "*insert name of any other sport* is more physically exhausting and harder than F1."    I magine that you're going at about 300 kmph, strapped to a  702 kg car. Now your heart is beating at 200 beats per minute and temperatures around you are hitting about 50-55 degrees cent
